Chongqing, July 17 — At approximately 9:10 a.m. on July 17, a landslide occurred in Hanjia Subdistrict, Pengshui County, Chongqing, leaving several people trapped and missing.




Immediately after the disaster, the Pengshui Lujiao Wujiang Bridge Project of Guizhou Company, China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. responded promptly to the emergency deployment of the Pengshui County Emergency Management Bureau. The project team quickly mobilized 20 emergency responders, dispatched one wheeled excavator and one 25-ton truck crane, and transported emergency rescue supplies to the landslide site near the Third Wujiang River Bridge.
Upon arrival, the rescue team carried out emergency response operations under the unified command of the local Emergency Response Command Center. The team was primarily responsible for coordinating heavy equipment to clear debris from the main access road and reopen emergency rescue routes, ensuring safe passage for rescue personnel and emergency vehicles. Team members also assisted in evacuating nearby residents, monitored the surrounding area to help prevent secondary landslides, and supported logistics by distributing drinking water, first-aid supplies and other emergency relief materials to rescue workers and affected residents.
